Frequently Asked Questions

How far will you travel?
I am located in Shaftsbury and will only travel to and from Bennington town and nothing further than 30 mins away like Manchester, Woodford or Readsboro, Williamstown, North Hoosick or Hoosick Falls. NO NY, MA, NH. I need to focus just in town for now as my business grows with local clients. I have over 40 clients and 12 are consistent throughout my daily traveling. Please understand I am only one person and have only 1 car. The further I travel the harder it is to get back to my other clients throughout the day/week.

How many dogs can you walk at once?

For right now just 2 from the same family or playgroup. I have several dogs that I currently walk or play with that unfortunately don't play well with others. I do require your dog to know basic commands, doesn't jump or pull as I have a bad back and shoulder. 2 dogs are my absolute max but if one of them pulls or doesn't listen, I will take 1 at a time for a walk during that 1 hour slot.

My pet needs to go to the vet. Will you take them?

Yes! If it is for an appointment, emergency or even if it's to drop them off at doggie daycare. I support all local kennels and hospitals and most of them know who I am too!

What are your prices for Dog walking? Or Just a potty break?

Do you have experience with rare or exotic pets?

I have some experience but I wouldn't say I'm an expert. I have taken care of birds, lizards, rats, and guinea pigs. I will, however NOT take care of spiders or snakes. Thanks!

How long do you stay with pets for overnights?

Dog walking and potty breaks will be a flat rate based on how many dogs and your location. I try to give myself some time in between appointments to get to the next client. I will stay for that amount of time to play and exercise your dog.....or if your cat goes out or needs some human time, I will gladly oblige. :-)

How many animals in a household do your prices cover?

When I have an overnight client I usually show up just after you leave and then I settle in. If I have other clients that are just visits, I will go and take care of them before, during, or after. I try not to leave your pet for longer than 2 hours at a time while I do other visits.

If I don't have other clients to visit, I pretty much just hang out there at the house and give my undivided attention to your fur baby. We may go on adventures if you allow it, go for walks, or just be couch potatoes.

For visits and walks: My prices cover up to 2 animals in a household. If you have a huge clang like 5 dogs and 3 cats for example, I will have to charge the base rate plus $5 for each additional pet I spend caring for your pets.

Overnights: Please message me for rates. Please remember the more animals you have, the more expensive it will be. I am only one person.

Everything will be explained in my contract/ informational packet.

Are your prices the same for exotics as they are for livestock or dog and cats?

I try to be as reasonable as possible. I base my pricing on distance, how many animals you have me looking after, and how much time I will need to spend with multiple pets. For livestock, exotics and overnights I will provide a quote for you and we can go from there.

What is the longest you have pet sat for a client?

I have several clients that leave for up to 1 month at a time, come back, and leave again. At that point, I basically will be living in your house because it would make both the pets and my life easier. However, please remember I do have my kiddos and other clients to attend to and will leave to attend to them occationally.

IF FOR ANY REASON you want me to be at your place and never leave, the price will be doubled as this is my FT job. I have had people do that to me and I literally couldn't leave unless it was to go to the vet or take their dog for a walk down the road.

AND NO, you don't have to provide me with food when I stay at your house. LOL I snack and usually fend for myself.

Are you able to give medications and will there be a fee for that?

Yes, i can give meds if you would like. There is no charge unless your pet is difficult to med or it is a medication that requires needles, fluids, or medical monitoring like insulin. Those cases will require a $5 additional charge/day.

What if my pet becomes ill when I'm away or out of the country where I can't be reached?

The best thing about my contract is not only will I have your emergency numbers, your number where you're going to be, but it also includes a prior authorization that I am allowed to take your pet to any Veterinarian available. With this authorization, the Vet can perform the medical treatment to treat or save your pet without waiting for your response.

If you request a specific Vet please remember that they are not always on-call on specific nights, after hours. I will bring your pet to a hospital that I know will properly care for and stabilize your pet.

If your pet is stabilized but requires to go to a 24/7 emergency hospital, I will take them. All vet bills will be dealt with when the owner returns. My goal is to do anything and everything I can to save your pet unless told otherwise by the owner.
